Short description
This guideline specifies performance criteria on automated ambient air measuring systems. These performance criteria apply to performance tests of point-related single and multiple-component measuring systems, which are intended for measurement tasks specified in national and European regulations. The performance characteristics determined in laboratory and field tests are assessed by means of the performance criteria. For measuring systems with measuring principles according to DIN EN 14211, DIN EN 14212, DIN EN 14625, DIN EN 14626 and DIN EN 14662-3 as well as DIN EN 12341 and DIN EN 14907, the performance criteria specified in this guideline are identical to the European requirements. They are substantiated and amended, if necessary. This applies especially to measuring principles, which deviate from the reference methods described in European Standards. This guideline is addressed to manufactures of automated ambient air measuring systems, to test institutes performing performance tests of such measuring systems, and to the authorities responsible for the declaration of suitability. Furthermore, it assists users of performance-tested measuring systems in the method verification and in the assessment of the quality of measuring results obtained. The performance testing of point-related single and multiple-component measuring systems is specified in guideline VDI 4203 Part 3.
