Short description
This standard specifies performance criteria (minimum requirements) and test procedures for the performance testing of automated ambient air quality measuring systems used for point-related measurement of gaseous pollutants. In addition, the equivalence testing of measuring systems based on measuring principles which differ from the reference method is described. The standard applies to the performance testing of single and multiple-component measuring systems, which are intended for measurement objectives specified in national and European regulations. For measuring systems with measuring principles based on the reference methods according to DIN EN 14211, DIN EN 14212, DIN EN 14625, DIN EN 14626 and DIN EN 14662-3, the requirements of this standard are identical to the European requirements. The standard is addressed to manufactures of automated ambient air measuring systems, to test institutes performing performance tests of such measuring systems, and to the authorities responsible for the declaration of suitability. Furthermore, it assists users of performance-tested measuring systems in the method verification and in the assessment of the quality of measuring results obtained. This standard in conjunction with the planned standard VDI 4202 Part 3 for automated dust measuring systems is intended to replace standards VDI 4202 Part 1:2010 and VDI 4203 Part 3:2010.
