Short description
This standard provides instructions for the planning, construction, acceptance and operation of plants for the hygienically safe processing and for the aseptic filling of microbiologically sensitive beverages and milk mixed drinks without the addition of preservatives and cold sterilisation agents as well as without measures for germ inactivation as e.g. hot-filling or tunnel pasteurisation after locking the package. The standard is valid for aseptic filling systems and its peripheries which fill and lock commercial sterile drinks and milk mixing drinks free of recontamination into packaging pre-inactivated from germs or packaging which has been produced germ-free in the plant. Furthermore, the standard is valid for all assigned equipment and aggregates as well as for the plant surrounding area. Aseptic filling plants in the pharmaceutical industry are not dealt with since the terms and requirements differ from those of the food and beverage industry.
