Overview

This standard contains fundamental requirements and information on primary cells and batteries which are considered dry cell batteries in this standard. Part 1 forms the basis of the DIN EN 60086 series and of the subsequent parts. The main content consists of basic information on definitions, nomenclature, dimensions, and markings as well as safety, test methods and environmental aspects. This new version considers recent technological developments for batteries of individual electrochemical systems. The responsible committee is DKE/K 372 "Primärbatterien" ("Primary batteries") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
