Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55103-1:2009 and its Amendment A1:2012. It specifies limits and methods of measurement for the emission of audio, video, audiovisual and entertainment lighting control apparatus for professional use. Digital apparatus, sub-assemblies and plug-in units are also included. For the equipment that is covered by this standard 5 operational environments are defined. This standard covers the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz, however measurements need only be carried out in the frequency ranges, in which requirements are specified. The measurement methods are taken over by references to appropriate product family standards. The standard defines the specific measurement conditions which apply to the apparatuses and devices which are within the scope of this standard. The annexes specify methods for the measurement of magnetic fields in the frequency range 50 Hz to 50 kHz, for the measurement of the inrush current and for the measurement of conducted disturbances at telecommunications and network ports. Furthermore, information about apparatuses which use infrared signals for signal transmission or control, and for use of audio, video, audio-visual and entertainment lighting control apparatus near receivers for cordless telephones and their antennas. With respect to the previous edition, specifications for the handling of d.c. power ports have been supplemented in clause 5 and Table 1 containing specifications for limits has been replaced. Furthermore, specifications for conditional measurement as a function of the highest frequency of the internal sources of the specimen have been added. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 767.11 "EMV von Betriebsmitteln und Anlagen für häusliche, gewerbliche, industrielle, wissenschaftliche und medizinische Anwendungen, die beabsichtigt oder unbeabsichtigt HF erzeugen, sowie von Beleuchtungseinrichtungen" ("EMC of equipment for domestic, commercial, industrial, scientific and medical applications, which intentionally or unintentionally generate RF, and of lighting equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
