This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55016-1-5:2010 and its Amendment A1:2012 and is identical to International Standard IEC/CISPR 16-1-5 (2003 edition) and its Amendment A1:2012. It specifies requirements for test sites used to perform antenna calibrations in the frequency range 30 kHz to 1 GHz. The purpose is to demonstrate - with the help of the standard - the corresponding validation of the test site. The EMC product committees and users of measurements of electromagnetic disturbances are recommended to observe the corresponding specifications of standard series IEC/CISPR 16 or EN 55016 for measuring equipment, measuring methods as well as measurement uncertainty for their specifications for measurement of high-frequency disturbances (radio disturbances). A test site which is suitable for calibration of antennas and which is called an antenna calibration test site in this standard is intended to provide a suitable environment for calibration of the free-space antenna factor. In this standard it is assumed that the calibration is carried out over a reflecting plane with the limitation to the horizontal polarization. Therefore the antenna calibration test site shall fulfil certain requirements concerning its site attenuation to be appropriate for the calibration of antennas. These requirements and the corresponding tolerances are specified in this standard and the validation procedure to be applied for antenna calibration test sites is described. The site attenuation is measured using tuned dipoles or broadband antennas. Furthermore, information that shall be contained in an acceptance certificate is summarized. Annex A provides a guideline for the set-up of an antenna calibration test site meeting the validation criteria specified in this standard. Amendment A1 serves for the introduction of the reference test site procedure as an alternative procedure for the validation of antenna calibration test sites. With this procedure the test site to be validated is now measured with broad band antennas and the deviation of the site attenuation with regard to a test site serving as a reference site is determined. The test site to be validated is assumed to be suitable if the deviation of the test site attenuation meets the criterion plus/minus 4. The test set-up and the test procedure are described in the Amendment. Furthermore it deals with the determination of the possible causes if the criterion is not met. A validated antenna calibration test site can also be used as a reference test site for the suitability test of test sites in accordance with CISPR 16-1-4, EN 550-1-4 or DIN EN 55016-1-4 (VDE 0876-16-1-4) if it meets several additional requirements. These additional requirements and design criteria are also specified in this standard. The responsible committee is UK 767.4 "Geräte und Verfahren zum Messen von elektromagnetischen Aussendungen" ("Apparatus and methods for measurement of electromagnetic emissions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
