Short description
With the help of this tandard, the dimensioning of rope drives required prior to verification can be carried out in such a way that the basic safety and health requirements are met and the state of the art in the application of the standard and in the use of the wire ropes, which has been known for many years, can be taken into account. The designer is thus once again provided with a suitable design tool which also guarantees inspection at the intervals known from experience. The standard fills all gaps of DIN 15020, e. g. in the consideration of higher wire strengths and modern rope constructions. For all rope drives in the corresponding scope, which are dimensioned according to this standard, the static strength verification and the fatigue strength verification must be carried out according to DIN EN 13001-3-2. Following the linguistic usage in ropeway construction (cf. DIN EN 1907) - but contrary to most standards - a distinction is made between sheaves and rope sheaves. According to this the sheave changes the direction of the rope, whereby the rope generally assumes the curvature of the sheave. The rope sheave loads the rope by a transverse force, whereby the rope generally does not assume the curvature of the sheave. The standard is intended for designers, planners and users of lifting equipment.
