Short description
This guideline applies to the operation of lifts requiring supervision in the sense of the Occupational Safety Ordinance. This also applies to operation under special requirements, as may be the case with use by fire brigades, for example. The purpose of this guideline is to describe the operation according to their intended purpose of lifts as a composite with building services, while guaranteeing safety for humans and the environment. It provides operators with recommendations for the safe, demand-based and economical operation of lifts and takes into account the effectiveness of statutory and normative requirements, the occupational and general safety and environmental protection and specific performance requirements. The guideline also gives recommendations relating to operator responsibility, minimising the risk of liability, operating lifts according to the state of the art, products supplied, e.g. fire alarm systems, and requirements for lifts with special duties, e.g. evacuation, rescue of persons, fire brigade lift.
