Short description
The guideline is applicable to plants for the production of ceramic raw materials and products such as: - clay bricks, ceiling bricks and roof tiles; - clinkers and floor clinkers as well as other brick products (e.g. drain pipes and cable manhole covers); - ceramic tiles and slabs as well as split tiles; - stoneware pipes and fittings; - refractory bricks (i.e. made of chamotte, quartzite, bauxite, magnesite, dolomite, ferrous chromate); - tableware, artificial and ornamental porcelain/ stoneware; - sanitary and clay ware; - technical ceramics, e.g. machine construction, electrical and chemical engineering; - abrasives (in bulk, on bedding layers, grinding tools); - expanded clay Emission related environmental effects into air, water and soil are considered in the following in an integrated view (compare IPPC Directive). This guideline does not apply to greenhouse gases. Reference is made to the specific laws, regulations and provisions, administrative or otherwise, applicable to the construction and operation of the facilities in question. All gas volumes referred to in this guideline are based on the standard (state) temperature and pressure (273 K, 1013 mbar) after water vapour content has been deducted. A special note is made of any exceptions.
