Short description
This standard describes methodologies for the determination of concentrations of persistent organic pollutants (POP) related to the Stockholm list in indoor and outdoor air with GC/HRMS. The analysis of several compound groups is combined here. This method makes possible the combined assessment of mix exposures thus saving costs and time in combination with a high benefit of information. This technique is also applicable for polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) under the restriction of short sample times. Due to its complexity, this methodology only fulfils partly the quality requirements concerning the detection sensitivity as it is ensured e.g. in the standards VDI 2464 Part 2 and Part 3 for the specific compound classes (dioxin-like PCB, PBDE). If the detection limits of the methodology described in this standard is not adequate for the analysis of the dioxin-like PCB and PBDE, the use of the standards VDI 2464 Part 2 resp. Part 3 is necessary.
