Short description
The standard describes spatial crank mechanisms possessing at least two axes of rotation which cross but do not intersect; in other words, skewed axes. It deals only with a running gear degrees of F = +1, which can be developed from spatial kinematic chains in which the number of elements and the number of joints match. These mechanisms find application in many areas such as kneading machines, packaging, control of compressor units, video projectors, etc. Systematic solutions are becoming increasingly important as more and more complex kinematic tasks, even in space, must be solved. The standard provides help to users and designers of spatial crank mechanisms and allows for a unified terminology for gearing mechanism.
