DIN SPEC 79161:2011-12

DIN SPEC 79161 (Technical Specification), Playground inspection - Qualification of playground inspectors, specifies the requirements for training and examination of qualified playground inspectors. It applies for persons carrying out the yearly general inspection of playground equipment and playgrounds as well as the inspections after completion of a new playground in accordance with DIN EN 1176-7 for all playground equipment and playgrounds mentioned in the scope of DIN EN 1176-1. The yearly general inspection and the inspection of newly installed equipment on playgrounds shall be carried out by competent persons. It could be determined by numerous harmful events and the associated jurisdiction that there are significant quality differences between the persons carrying out the tests with regard to the necessary competence. This Technical Specification shall help playground inspectors to obtain the competence necessary for the inspections described in the scope of this document. The operators of playgrounds are given the opportunity to demand the respective proof of the necessary competence when selecting and commissioning playground inspectors. They are given assistance to fulfil their special duties within the framework of the safety management in connection with duties to maintain safety. The committee responsible for this specification is NA 112-07-07 AA "Spielplatzprüfung" ("Playground inspection") at DIN.
