The special requirements contained in this part of standards of series DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 100) shall be applied for - circuits intended for supply of electric vehicles for loading purposes; - protective measures for recovery of electric energy from the electrical vehicle to the private and public networks. In addition to the requirements already recognized in Europe for the power supply of electric vehicles, this standard now also takes into account international interests. Compared to DIN VDE 0100-722 (VDE 0100-722):2012-10, the following significant changes have been made: a) extensions to the protective devices that shall not be used; b) requirements for "devices for protection in the event of overcurrent" specified; c) requirements on insulation monitoring devices (IMDs) added; d) requirements on insulation fault location systems (IFLS) in IT systems included. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 221.2 "Schutz gegen thermische Auswirkungen/Sachschutz" ("Protection against thermal effects/property protection") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
