The ISO 22915 series deals with the safety of industrial trucks, as described in ISO 5053-1, in relation to their stability and the testing of that stability. For the purposes of ISO 22915, industrial trucks are wheeled, powered or pedestrian-propelled vehicles, excluding those running on rails. They are either operated by a driver or are driverless. They are designed for transporting, pulling, pushing, lifting, stacking or racking. This part of ISO 22915 specifies tests for testing the stability of - reach trucks (with retractable mast or retractable forks) and - straddle trucks. It is applicable to industrial trucks with both inclinable and non-inclinable masts or forks and a rated load capacity up to and including 5 000 kg. It is also applicable to industrial trucks equipped with attachments and operated under the same operating conditions. This standard contains the German version of ISO 22915-3:2014, which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 110/SC 2 "Safety of powered industrial trucks". The national interests during the preparation of the ISO 22915 series were represented by Committee NA 060-22-42 AA "Sicherheit von Flurförderzeugen" ("Safety for industrial trucks") at Technical Section "Fördertechnik" ("Conveying technology") of the Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers and users of industrial trucks, and of the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation.
