DIN EN ISO 5364:2017-01

The standard applies for oropharyngeal airways of plastic materials and/or rubber with or without reinforcement insert made of plastic materials and/or metal. The dimensions, size designations, performance requirements and information of the manufacturer are specified. The standard contains the associated test methods for the significant performance characteristics. Compared to DIN EN ISO 5364:2011-07, a color coding system for tubes has been included in the standard, which is important to allow rapid identification and selection in emergencies. The standard has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 121 "Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment" (secretariat: ANSI, USA) in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 215 "Respiratory and anaesthetic equipment" (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). The responsible national committee is Working Committee NA 053-03-02 AA "Medizinprodukte für das Atemwegssystem" ("Airways and related equipment") at DIN Standards Committee Rescue Services and Hospital (NARK).
