DIN EN ISO 5359 specifies requirements for low-pressure hose assemblies intended for use with the following medical gases: oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical air, helium, carbon dioxide, xenon, specified mixtures of the gases listed above, oxygen-enriched air, air for driving surgical tools, nitrogen for driving surgical tools. Amendment 1 has been incorporated into the new version of DIN EN ISO 5359. With Amendment 1, the allocation of connectors B11 and C19 has been brought in line with the allocation of the corresponding connectors in DIN 15908:2010, "Anaesthetic and respiratory equipment - Non-interchangeable screw-threaded (NIST) low-pressure connectors for medical gases", German version EN 15908:2010. Afterwards the following allocation applies: - connector B11 to carbon dioxide, - connector C19 to carbon dioxide/oxygen mixture (CO2 > 7 % (volume fraction)) The standard including the amendment has been prepared by CEN/TC 215 "Respiratory and anaesthetic equipment") (secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom) with the participation of ISO/TC 121/SC 1 "Breathing attachments and anaesthetic machines" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). The responsible German committee is NA 053-03-06 AA "Zentrale Gasversorgungsanlagen" ("Central gas supply systems") of the Rescue Services and Hospital Standards Committee (NARK).
