DIN EN ISO 22007-2 specifies a method for the determination of the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity, and hence the specific heat capacity per unit volume, of plastics. The experimental arrangement can be designed to match different specimen sizes. Measurements can be made in gaseous and vacuum environments at a range of temperatures and pressures. This method is suitable for testing homogeneous and isotropic materials, as well as anisotropic materials with a uniaxial structure. The text of ISO 22007-2:2008 has been prepared by ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" (secretariat: SAC, China) and has been identically adopted as a European Standard by Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics" (secretariat: NBN, Belgium). The responsible German standardization committee at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. is the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK), Working Committee NA 054-01-03 AA "Physikalische, rheologische und analytische Prüfungen" ("Physical, rheological and analytical tests").
