This standard specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification for overlay welding is qualified by welding procedure tests. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 15614-7:2007-09 as follows: a) Clauses "Normative references" and "Bibliography" have been updated; b) in Table 1 ("Examination and testing of the test pieces"), the requirements for side bend test and the macroscopic examination of the test piece for hardfacing have been added; c) Tables 2 and 3 concerning the acceptance criteria for non-destructive and destructive testing have been included; d) in Table 3 (new Table 5), the scope of qualification for material groups has been modified; e) Figure 5 (hardness traverse for overlay) has been completed by a micropraphic structure; f) the scope of Table 4 (new Table 6) for the parent metal thickness has been extended by a thickness of the test piece under 25 mm; g) the requirements for the arc energy (8.5.4) and for the preheating temperature (8.5.5) have been rendered more precise. The standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 44/SC 10 "Quality management in the field of metal welding" and adopted identically as a European Standard. The responsible German standardization committee is DIN/DVS Joint Committee NA 092-00-04 AA "Qualitätssicherung beim Schweißen (DVS AG Q 2)"("Quality assurance of welding (DVS AG Q 2)") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and allied processes (NAS).
