This standard contains the German version of EN ISO 13351:2009, which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 117 "Fans" (secretariat: BSI, Great Britain), in collaboration with CEN/TC 156 "Ventilation of Buildings" (secretariat: BSI, Great Britain). The national interests during the preparation were represented by the Technical Section Allgemeine Lufttechnik (General ventilation technology) of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 060-09-11 AA "Ventilatoren" ("Fans"). Representatives of stakeholders, including manufacturers and users of fans, and research and testing institutes, participated in the preparation. This International Standard specifies the dimensions of the circular and rectangular flanges of general-purpose fans and contains specifications for "fan size designations". It is not applicable to cross-flow fans or to fan appliances used for individual household or similar applications. For circular flanges, this International Standard provides for three different flange series, one for light-duty fans with low casing thicknesses, another for medium-duty fans and the third for heavy-duty fans as used on sea-going vessels or in heavy industry. In order not to restrict fan layout and design unduly, only the pitch diameter, hole numbers and hole diameters were standardized. Flange thickness, as well as internal and external flange diameters, can be chosen freely within the limits of good engineering practice.
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 13351:2010-12 .
