DIN EN ISO 11120 specifies minimum requirements for the material, design, construction and workmanship, manufacturing processes, examinations and tests at manufacture of refillable quenched and tempered seamless steel tubes of water capacities exceeding 150 l up to and including 3 000 l for compressed and liquefied gases exposed to extreme world-wide ambient temperatures (normally between -50 °C and +65 °C). The standard is applicable to tubes with a maximum tensile strength of less than 1 100 MPa. These tubes can be used alone or in batteries to equip trailers or multiple element gas containers (ISO modules or skids) for the transportation and distribution of compressed gases. DIN EN ISO 11120 does not contain requirements with regard to any additional stresses, for example bending stresses etcetera which may occur during operation or transport. The standard cancels and replaces the existing edition DIN EN ISO 11120:1999-06 including Amendment 1 of 2013-12, whereby in particular the material requirements (steel grades, sulfur and phosphorus contents) are upgraded to the state-of-the-art as well as the special requirements for tubes for embrittling gases have been revised. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 016-00-03 AA "Druckgasflaschen und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 23 und ISO/TC 58" ("Gas cylinders and equipment; Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 23 and ISO/TC 58") at DIN.
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 11120/A1:2013-12 , DIN EN ISO 11120:1999-06 .
