DIN EN 9120:2010-11

The standard DIN EN 9120 is intended for use by organizations that procure parts, materials and assemblies and resells these products to a customer in the aviation, space and defense industries. This includes organizations that procure products and split them into smaller quantities, including those that coordinate a customer controlled service on the product. This standard is not intended for organizations that maintain or repair products. Organizations that perform work that affect or could affect product characteristics or conformity shall use the IAQG-developed AS/EN/JISC 9100 or AS/EN 9110 standards. This standard EN 9120 has been revised to incorporate the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and IAQG developed AS/EN/JISC 9100:2009. In addition, requirements, definitions and notes have been revised and additional requirements have been included in response to the needs of all parties concerned. It is emphasized that the requirements specified in this standard are complementary (not alternative) to contractual and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Industry has established the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), with representatives from companies in the Americas, Asia/Pacific and Europe, to implement initiatives that make significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream. This standard has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Quality, for the IAQG sector Europe. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-05-01 AA "Grundlagen der Managementverfahren" ("Basic principles of management processes") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN. According to Resolution 57/9 of Technical Committee of the advisory board of the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization, the European space industry standardization results shall be adopted into the German body of standards in both languages, German and English. Therefore, the English version is added to the German version of this EN standard.
