Overview

This Amendment to DIN EN 61242 (VDE 0620-300) applies to cable reels for a.c. only, with a rated voltage above 50 V and not exceeding 250 V for single-phase cable reels and above 50 V and not exceeding 440 V for all other cable reels, and a rated current not exceeding 16 A. They are intended for domestic, commercial and light industrial use and similar purposes, either indoors or outdoors, with particular reference to safety when used as intended. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 542.1 "Schalter und Steckvorrichtungen für den Hausgebrauch und ähnliche Zwecke" ("Switches and plug/socket connections for household and similar use") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

This document replaces DIN EN 61242 Berichtigung 1:2011-01; VDE 0620-300 Berichtigung 1:2011-01 , DIN EN 61242:2008-12; VDE 0620-300:2008-12 .
