Overview

The standard specifies requirements for luminaires for road and street lighting and other public outdoor lighting applications and for tunnel lighting and column-integrated luminaires with a minimum total height above normal ground level of 2,5 m. The luminaires are intended for use with electrical lighting sources on supply voltages not exceeding 1 000 V. The standard applies in connection with the main clauses of DIN EN 60598-1 (VDE 0711-1) to which reference is made to. The Committee responsible for the standard is Subcommittee UK 521.4 "Leuchten" ("Luminaires") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
