DIN EN 60335-2-89:2016-11

This European Standard incorporates the text of International Standard IEC 60335-2-89:2010-02 without CENELEC common amendments and the text of IEC 60335-2-89:2010/A1:2012-07 with agreed CENELEC common amendments. The CENELEC amendments to the International Standard are indicated by a vertical line in the left margin. The amendment EN 60335-2-89/A1:2016 incorporated in the German version of the European Standard EN 60335-2-89:2010 adapts the International Standard to the essential requirements of EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EU. This standard specifies safety requirements for electrically operated commercial refrigerating appliances that have an incorporated compressor or that are supplied in two units for assembly as a single appliance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (split system). Examples of such appliances are: refrigerated display and storage cabinets, refrigerated trolley cabinets, service counters and self-service counters, blast chillers and blast freezers. It applies to commercial refrigerators and freezers used for the display of food products, including the retail sale of beverages. The commercial use of the refrigerators/freezers is, for example, their use in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial establishments such as bakeries, butcher shops, supermarkets and so on. The responsible committee is DKE/ UK 511.5 "Geräte mit kältetechnischen Systemen" ("Appliances with refrigeration systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
