Overview

This standard deals with the safety of electric room heaters for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. Apart from adding other warnings to subclause 7.12, subclause 15.2 introduces a spillage test for appliances having a grille and that are built into the floor. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.4 "Raumheizgeräte" ("Room heaters") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
