This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55016-2-3:2010+A1:2010+A2:2014 and is identical to International Standard IEC/CISPR 16-2-3:2010 and its Amendment 1:2010 and Amendment 2:2014. It specifies requirements for the method of measurement for high-frequency radiated disturbances (disturbance field strengths) in the frequency range 1 GHz to 18 GHz. The EMC product committees and users of measurements of electromagnetic disturbances are recommended to observe the corresponding specifications of standard series IEC/CISPR 16 or EN 55016 for measuring equipment, measurement methods as well as measurement uncertainty when establishing their specifications regarding the measurement of high-frequency disturbances (radio disturbances). The standard gives information on the types of disturbances to be measured (measurand: electrical field) which may be narrow-band or broadband, continuous or intermittent, and on the detectors (mean value, peak value and quasi-peak detectors) that may be used. In addition, spectrum analyzers and FFT measuring instruments may also be used. Furthermore, the standard specifies the general measurement conditions and describes the configuration and procedure of measurement. Measurements may be conducted on a free field and in different measurement chambers and rooms (semi-anechoic chamber, fully anechoic room, TEM waveguide, reverberation chamber). Measurements may also be conducted automatically. Corresponding specifications are also provided in the standard. Its annexes give information and specifications regarding measurements in the presence of environmental disturbances, application of spectrum analyzers and automatically tunable measuring receivers, tuning rates and measuring times for cases where mean value detectors are used as well as regarding the so-called APD method which is based on the amplitude probability distribution. With respect to the previous edition, general specifications regarding the measurement of radiated disturbances have been adopted from CISPR 22. These specifications apply to the positioning of the test specimen (both table-top and floor-standing equipment or a combination of the two), the operation of multifunctional equipment during measurement, the recording of measurement results (taking into account disturbance levels exceeding a certain limit value), the execution of measurements using a shorter distance in case of excessive environmental disturbances. Moreover, the specifications regarding the use of equipment in order to absorb common mode disturbances, that hitherto had been included by reference to the relevant product standard, have been added. This standard also includes Corrigendum EN 55016-2-3:2010/AC:2013 to the European standard which states that the European Technical Specification TS 50217:2005 has been withdrawn and replaced by EN 55016-2-3:2010. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 767.4 "Geräte und Verfahren zum Messen von elektromagnetischen Aussendungen" ("Apparatus and methods for measurement of electromagnetic transmissions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
