Standards of the EN 50083 and EN 60728 series deal with cable networks including equipment and associated methods of measurement for headend reception, processing and distribution of television signals, sound signals and their associated data signals and for processing, interfacing and transmitting all kinds of signals for interactive services using all applicable transmission media. DIN EN 50083-2 applies to the radiation characteristics and immunity to electromagnetic disturbance of active and passive equipment for the reception, processing and distribution of television, sound and interactive multimedia signals in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 30 GHz. It specifies requirements for maximum allowed radiation, minimum immunity and minimum screening effectiveness and test methods for conformance testing. With the incorporated amendment the measurement procedure for internal immunity is extended to all modulation schemes. Up to now the measurement procedure has applied to analogue modulated signals. The responsible committee is DKE/K 735 "Kabelnetze und Antennen für Fernsehsignale, Tonsignale und interaktive Dienste" ("Cable networks for television signals, sound signals and interactive services") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
