The purpose of this standard is to specify the construction, operational requirements, safety requirements, energy use requirements and the corresponding test methods and marking of liquid gas-fired gas stoves, including those with grills. This standard applies to gas stoves with or without grill for outdoor use, fueled by the gases listed in 4.1, depending on the category specified in 4.2. This standard applies to these appliances and their functional components, whether used alone or incorporated in a combination. This standard deals only with type testing. This standard does not apply to appliances that are operated with gases of the third gas family at a pressure greater than that described in 4.2. Appliances for use in recreational vehicles and boats are excluded from the scope of this standard. Hob burners with a nominal heat load of less than 1.16 kW and barbecues are not subject to any requirements for the economical use of energy due to their low output and short operating times.
