The standard series DIN EN 4531 describes the characteristics of single and multipin optical circular connectors, coupled by triple start threaded ring and flush contacts for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 002 specifies the performance and contact arrangements of circular optical connectors, coupled by triple start threaded ring. The standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 4531-002:2012-07 as follows: a) in Table 1 the material for connectors of environmental class Z has been changed to aluminum; b) in Table 3, descriptions and material specifications have been replaced by references to EN 4531-001; c) the previous Subclause 5.4 has been omitted, the numbering of the subsequent subclauses changed accordingly; d) Figure 4 has been changed; e) in Clause 11, the previous reference to product standards has been replaced by a reference to EN 3645-002. The standard series EN 4531 has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 3 October 1986. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-10 AA "LWL und LWL-Komponenten" ("LWL and LWL-components") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
