The standards of the EN 2997 series describe electrical connectors, circular, coupled by threaded ring, fire-resistant or non fire-resistant, operating temperatures -65 °C to 175 °C continuous or 200 °C continuous, and 260 °C peak. This family of connectors is derived from MIL-DTL-83723 series III, type T with which it is intermateable. Part 002 defines the performance and contact arrangements of circular electrical connectors, coupled by threaded ring. It also lists the product standards and models available for selection in this series. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 2997-002:2008-09: a) update and supplementation of the normative references; b) addition of the classes of connectors KV and SV into the standard and consequently to the corresponding tables; c) revision of the permissible combinations in Tables 2 and 3; d) incorporation of contact size 22 in Table 4; e) incorporation of the connector models A, D, C and B and associated product standards in Table 5; f) incorporation of other contact arrangements in Table 7 and the following figures; g) incorporation of another example in clause 9. The standards of the EN 2997 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
