The series of standards EN 2267 describes requirements for single- and/or multi-core cables for general use in on-board power systems of aircrafts at operating temperatures between -65 °C and 260 °C. The new edition of Part 010 specifies the characteristics of UV laser printable electrical lightweight wires DR family for use in the on-board 115 V (phase to neutral) or 230 V (phase to phase) electrical systems of aircrafts at operating temperatures between -65 °C and 260 °C. These cables are demonstrated to be arc resistant in sizes 26 to 14 (115/230 V). In addition, cables in sizes 12 AWG and larger are suitable for use at 230/400 V in pressurized zones; when installed, possible short circuit effects (at the discretion of the user) have to be taken into account. It shall also be possible to mark these cables by qualified compatible marking. These markings shall satisfy the requirements of EN 3838. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 2267-010:2006-10: - in the scope, the potential on-board electrical system voltage (115 V [phase to neutral] or 230 V [phase to phase]) has been substantiated and statements related to arc resistance regarding the cable size included; - in 4.1, the reference for cable conductors has been limited to EN 4434; - in the tests in Table 2, the test according to 3475-603 "Resistance to wet arc tracking" has been modified into being applicable and two tests according to EN 3838 have also been added; - in Table 3, the code designation DRS for "Single core (Blue UV markable)" has been added. The standards of the EN 2267 series are prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrical, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-04 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
