Overview

This European Standard specifies the methods for the chemical analysis of cement. This document describes the reference methods and, in certain cases, an alternative method which can be considered to be equivalent. In the case of a dispute, only the reference methods are used. This document describes methods which apply principally to cements, but which can also be applied to their constituent materials. They can also be applied to other materials, the standards for which call up these methods. Standard specifications state which methods are to be used. This standard differs from DIN EN 196-2:2005-05 as follows: a) the scope has been supplemented; b) Clause 5 "Chemical analysis by X-ray fluorescence" has been added; c) Annexes A to C and the Clause Bibliography have been added. The responsible German body involved in its preparation was Working Committee NA 005-07-13 AA "Zement (SpA zu Teil-bereichen von CEN/TC 51 und ISO/TC 74)" ("Cement (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 51 and ISO/TC 74)") of the Building and Civil Engineering Standards Committee (NABau).
