This European Standard specifies the requirements for the installation of liquefied petroleum gas systems in leisure accommodation vehicles and for accommodation purposes in other vehicles. It includes in detail, in terms of safety and health, requirements for the selection of materials, components and appliances with regard to design, on tightness testing of liquefied petroleum gas installations and on the contents of the user's handbook. This European Standard does not cover installations supplied from other than 3rd family gases (LPG), water connections and electrical power supplies to the appliance(s). Portable appliances incorporating their own gas supply are not considered part of the installation and are outside the scope of this standard. It does not include the installation of LPG appliances to be used for commercial purposes or for boats. Also, gas supply equipment and gas appliances separate from and external to the body of the vehicle are not considered by this standard. Requirements for the operation and testing of liquefied petroleum gas systems are specified in the DVGW-Arbeitsblatt (DVGW Code of practice) G 607. In addition, vehicles for commercial use shall also comply with the accident prevention regulation "Verwendung von Flüssiggas" ("Use of liquefied gases ") (BGV D34). In Germany, mobile homes are not deemed as road vehicles, they fall under the scope of building regulations. For the installation of LPG systems where the maximum consumption exceeds 1,5 kg/h in mobile homes, the corresponding set of rules, the German technical regulations on liquid gas (TRF) refer to DIN EN 1949. In addition, mobile homes for commercial use shall also comply with the accident prevention regulation "Verwendung von Flüssiggas" ("Use of liquefied gases ") (BGV D34).
