This standard specifies safety requirements and the corresponding test methods for infant swings intended for children up to a weight of 9 kg or unable to sit up unaided. If an infant swing has several functions or can be converted into another function, the relevant European Standards apply to it. As a test standard it is primarily directed at manufacturers and testing institutes commissioned with testing infant swings. The committee responsible for DIN EN 16232 is NA 095-05-03 AA "Artikel für Säuglinge und Kleinkinder - Sitzen, Pflegen, Schützen, Liegen und Transportieren" ("Child use and care articles - Seating and body care, protection, lying down and transportation") at DIN.
