DIN EN 14334 specifies minimum requirements for the inspection and testing of the LPG road tanker, which includes its pressure vessel, accessories and vehicle LPG equipment. This European Standard does not specify requirements for the initial inspection (after manufacture) of a pressure vessel, see EN 12493, or for service equipment on the road tanker, see EN 12252. This document does not apply to compartmented road tankers. With respect to the previous edition of 2005-06, the particularly focus of the revision has been on conformity with the ADR, so it can be assumed, that this edition can be cited in the 2017 edition of the ADR or that the standard can already be applied on a voluntary basis from 2015 on after the Joint Meeting's decision. Alternatives to hydraulic pressure testing (NDT methods) that are already in practical use in some European countries have been introduced. The use of these alternative methods, however, is subject to approval by the inspection body according to ADR. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 016-00-06 AA "Flüssiggas-Geräte und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 286" ("Liquefied petroleum gas equipment and accessories; Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 286") at the Standards Committee Pressurized Gas installations (NDG) at DIN.
