The detail specification describes surface-mountable fixed low power film SMD resistors, cylindrical, design: RC. These are ceramic bodies with protected, insulated, spiral-shaped resistor layer and solder connections, thin film, for use on rigid or flexible printed circuit boards. This specification fulfills the requirements for the zero-defect approach. The assessment level EZ is introduced to align the evaluation procedures and levels with the given industrial practices. For this reason, the agreed number of acceptable non-conforming parts (acceptance number) used in fixed sample size inspection plans and in quality compliance inspection plans, together with the AQL numbers, is replaced by the acceptance number "0" in lot-by-lot inspection plans and the sample size for lot-by-lot inspections is determined by directly assigning the inspection level/lot size code letters selected from Table I of IEC 60410 to Table II. The specification is one of four documents in which fixed resistors for surface mounting are described as follows: - EN 60115-1: Fixed resistors for use in electronic equipment - Part 1: Generic specification (IEC 60115-1, mod.) - EN 140400: Sectional specification: Fixed low power surface mount (SMD) resistors - EN 140401: Blank Detail Specification: Fixed low power film surface mount (SMD) resistors - EN 140401-803: Detail specification: Fixed low power film SMD resistors - Cylindrical - Stability classes 0,05; 0,1; 0,25; 0,5; 1; 2. The standard differs from DIN EN 140401-803:2013-12 as follows: a) specification of the standard products according to this detail specification to be manufactured with lead-free connections and determination of the optional special products according to this detail specification with leaded connection metallization in 1.1, Table 1, and 1.9.4; b) introduction of a new additional mark in the ordering information for special products with leaded connection metallization while retaining the specified ordering information for standard products in 1.9.4; c) revision of the test conditions and the test plan to differentiate between standard products and special products in 1.8.1 and Annex A, Table A.1; d) revision of the application information on the soldering processes to differentiate between standard products and special products in 1.10.3. The responsible committee is DKE/GK 613 "Widerstände" ("Resistors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 140401-803:2013-12 .
