This blank detail specification is a supplementary document to the sectional specification. It contains requirements for composition and structure and minimum content of detail specifications. The standard deals with fixed low power film surface mount (SMD) resistors, cylindrical, type: RC. These are ceramic bodies with protected, insulated, spiralled resistance film and solder terminations, thin film, for application on rigid or flexible printed board. This specification fulfills the requirements for the Zero Defects approach. In order to align the procedures and levels of assessment with given industrial practices, the new assessment level EZ is introduced. For this reason, the agreed acceptable number of non-conforming items (acceptance number) used in test plans with a fixed sample size and in plans for quality conformance testing, in conjunction with the AQL numbers stated in test plans for lot-by-lot inspections, is replaced by the acceptance number "0" and the sample size for lot-by-lot inspections is determined by directly assigning the selected code letters from Table I of IEC 60410 for the test level/lot size to Table II. The specification is part of a series of four documents describing fixed resistors for surface mount as follows: EN 60115-1: Fixed resistors for use in electronic equipment - Part 1: Generic specification (IEC 60115-1, mod.) EN 140400: Sectional specification: Fixed low power surface mounting (SMD) resistor EN 140401: Blank detail specification: Fixed low power non-wirewound resistors (SMD) EN 140401-803: Detail specification: Fixed low power film SMD resistors - Cylindrical - Stability classes 0,05; 0,1; 0,25; 0,5; 1; 2. The responsible committee is DKE/GK 613 "Widerstände" ("Resistors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
