This document (EN 13399:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 336 "Bituminous binders", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German Committee is Joint Committee NA 062-03-32 GA "Bitumen; Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen für die Bindemittel"("Bitumen; test methods and specifications of binders") of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) and of the Building and Civil Engineering Standards Committee (NABau). This document cancels and replaces EN 13399:2003. With respect to DIN EN 13399:2004-03, the following changes have been made: a) the temperature in note 1 in 5.5 has been changed; b) note 2 in 5.5 has been added to the normative text; c) the standard has been editorially revised. This European Standard specifies a method for measuring the storage stability at high temperatures. A homogeneous sample of modified bitumen is maintained in a vertical vessel at 180 °C - or at a temperature specified by the producer - for three days. After the sample has cooled down, it is cut into three equal parts. The two ends (top and bottom) are analyzed further to evaluate possible differences in characteristics. If the chosen temperature differs from 180 °C, it shall be mentioned in the test report.
This document replaces DIN EN 13399:2004-03 .
