Overview

This European Standard specifies the general design features, requirements and test methods for portable ladders. The standard does not apply to step stools or ladders for specific professional use such as firebrigade ladders, roof ladders and mobile ladders. With respect to DIN EN 131-2:2010-07, the specifications relating to shearing and squeeze points have been modified. For the bending test of the stiles, a pre-load of 100 N has been included to be in line with the test sequence given in Annex A. The test sequence given in Annex A has been changed so that only one ladder is needed for all tests. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-04-20 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 93 Leitern" ("Mirror Committee of CEN 93 Ladders") at DIN.
