Overview

The national Mirror Committee responsible for Amendment 1 which has been prepared by CEN/TC 129 "Glass in Building" is Working Committee NA 005-09-27 "Geklebte Glasfassaden" ("Structural Glazing"). In comparison to EN 13022-1:2006, Amendment 1 to EN 13022-1:2006 provides supplementary footnotes in the Scope that retaining devices may be required by national regulations and, in case of laminated glass and laminated safety glass, SSGS of types III and IV may be forbidden by national regulation. Furthermore, the equation for the height of the outer seal has been changed in 6.2.1.1 and the value for level R (distance between structural seal and glass edge) in 6.2.1.2 has been changed from "R less than/equal to 3 T" to "R less than/equal to 5 T" (where T is the thickness of the largest glass pane). The European Standards specifies requirements for the suitability for use of supported and unsupported glass products for use in SSG applications. The standard supplements the requirements specified in the corresponding standards with regard to verifying the suitability for use in SSG systems. Glass products meeting the requirements of this European Standard are suitable for use in SSG systems according to ETAG 002 "Structural Sealant Glazing Systems - SSGS".
