This European Standard establishes the basis for testing and classifying free-standing safes, built-in safes (floor and wall), ATM safes and ATM bases, strongroom doors and strongrooms (with or without a door) according to their burglary resistance. This European Standard does not cover testing and classifying Deposit Systems and ATM systems. This standard differs from DIN EN 1143-1:2010-01 as follows: a) requirements and technical type testing criteria for the conduct of the additional gas test on ATM safes of resistance grades II to VIII (Table 2; Clauses 4, 10 and Subclause 12.4) have been added; b) requirements and technical type testing criteria for the anchoring test on ATM safes (Table 2; 8.2) as a basis of the use of fixed and flexible ATM bases have been optimized; c) requirements for the resistance value for the post-detonation test in the conduct of the additional test with explosives (EX) have been modified. The previous criterion of complete access has been deleted and replaced with partial access (Tables 1 and 2 and subclauses 5.8e, 6.1, 7.5.4.4, 7.6.13, 7.7 and 9.5.1); d) subclauses 3.12, 4.2.3 and 8.2.3.1 have been editorially revised. The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-20-01 AA "Geldschränke und Tresoranlagen" of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN.
