This standard applies for the procedure of the acceptance test in accordance with § 16 of the Röntgenverordnung (German X-ray Ordinance) (RöV) on medical diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic X-ray equipment. This includes equipment for digital subtraction angiography (DSA). This standard does not apply for dental X-ray equipment, mammography X-ray equipment, computed tomography equipment, imaging devices for radiotherapy and bone density measuring equipment. The standard contains image quality assuring specifications according to the German X-ray Ordinance (RöV), requirements according to § 16 and serves in connection with the Sachverständigen-Prüfrichtlinie (QS-RL) (testing guidelines for experts) and the Qualitätssicherungsrichtlinie (QS-RL) (quality assurance guidelines) for the fulfilment of national requirements in radiation protection. Within the framework of acceptance testing, the reference values (initial values) for the constancy test are determined with the test equipment used for the constancy test. The methods for determination of the reference values are preferably based on non-invasive measurements carried out with suitable test equipment during or after completion of the installation. They are described in standard DIN 6868-4. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 080-00-06 AA "Bildgebende Systeme" ("Imaging systems") of NAR.
