Overview

The standard series DIN 58141 specifies measurement methods for fibre optic components.
The standard DIN 58141-5 is applicable for testing of fibre optic components and products for image transmission as well as for conduction of light and optical radiation from the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. It is not applicable for fibre optic components intended for telecommunications and data transmission over distances more than 100 m. The purpose of this standard is the specification of a method to determine the visual defects of light and image guides.
The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-16 AA "Faseroptik" ("Fibre optics") of NAFuO.
