This standard has been prepared by Subcommittee NA 087-00-15-01 UA "Grundlagen und Fertigungstechnologien" ("Terms and definitions for the reliable state of railway vehicles") of Working Committee NA 087-00-15 AA "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge" ("State of railway vehicles") at the DIN Standards Committee Railway (FSF) in coordination with other Working Committees of the FSF and of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies). The standards of the complete works "State of railway vehicles" represent a uniform and system-compatible normative document which specifies provisions for the operation and maintenance of standard gauge railway vehicles. All documents of the complete works are listed in DIN 27200, Supplement 1. DIN 27201 "State of railway vehicles - Basic principles and production technology" consists of: - Part 1: Procedures for preparation and modification of maintenance programmes - Part 2: Proof of maintenance - Part 3: Test run - Part 4: Treatment of railway vehicles following hazardous incidents - Part 5: Assessment parameters and requirements of the distribution of wheel forces and vertical wheelset forces of railway vehicles - Procedure for checking and settings (title modified) - Part 6: Welding - Part 7: Non-destructive testing - Part 8: Adhesive bonding (the draft E DIN 27201-8 shall be integrated into the project DIN 6701-4.) - Part 9: Measuring - Part 10: Thermal spraying - Part 11: Procedure for preparation of fault tolerance concept - Part 12: Mandatory supervision equipment permanently installed in railway vehicles - Part 13: Maintenance of fibre composite components (in preparation). Wear, failures and other damage influence the operational safety of railway vehicles. Depending on the wear characteristics, application parameters and the current state of the railway vehicles and the cost effectiveness, a maintenance system shall be specified by which it is ensured that the necessary target state is maintained and the necessary specifications for compliance of vertical wheel and wheel set forces are applied. The general field of application of this standard is specified in DIN 27200:2011-11; Clause 1 and 3.1. This standard specifies the principles for testing the wheel and vertical wheelset forces during the maintenance of the railway vehicles. This standard deals with the assessment parameters and the requirements for the distribution of the wheel and vertical wheelset forces as well as the procedures for checking and setting and therefore differs from EN 15654. This standard does not apply to freight wagons but can be applied on a case-by case basis on request of the owner/railway transport company/ECM. Compared with DIN 27201-5:2006-05, the following modifications have been made: a) amendments in the title and scope; b) revision of the terms and definitions; c) clarification in the Clause Procedures for checking and setting procedures; d) revision of the Clause Default setting, Measurement in the compressive force measuring facility; e) requirements and calculation in deflated condition newly incorporated; f) revision of the test protocol in Annex A - among others, error correction of consecutive number 5; vehicle mass at the time of measurement (consecutive number 13) newly incorporated; g) calculation example in Annex B newly incorporated; h) editorially revised.
This document replaces DIN 27201-5 Berichtigung 1:2006-09 , DIN 27201-5:2006-05 .
