This standard applies to the application of computer codes for the assessment of criticality safety of fissile-material assemblies. It contains requirements for - the criteria which shall be met when choosing a computer code, - the verification and validation of the chosen computer code and the documentation of analyses conducted for verification and validation, respectively, - the steps necessary for preparing calculations, and for performance and check of calculations, - the interpretation of the calculation results obtained and analysis of the calculation uncertainties. The standard is complemented by explanations given in Supplement 1 of DIN 25478 which contains further information in particular on the consideration of calculation uncertainties. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-07-45 AA "Kritikalitätssicherheit" ("Criticality safety") of the Section "Nuclear Technology and radiation protection" at the DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
