This standard specifies dimensions and designations of round and rope thread connections to be used in percussive drilling technology of larger dimensions in mining which are not included in ISO standard 10208. During percussive drilling, the impact energy transfer of the hammer at a threaded connection usually takes place via the faces of the bolted parts. The size of the contact surfaces shall comply with the impact forces to be transmitted and the supporting thread flanks shall transmit the applied torque so that the specific contact pressure does not exceed the present material properties of the components.
