The European Standard EN 14250 has been available since November 2004 as a harmonized European Standard and has been adopted into the German body of standards as the revised version of DIN EN 14250:2010-05. The products manufactured in accordance with this standard may therefore receive CE marking since 2005-09-01 and be freely traded within the scope of the Construction Products Directive. The conditions under which construction products manufactured in accordance with EN 14250:2010 may be traded and placed on the market are given in the announcement of DIN EN 14250:2010-05 as harmonized standard in the Bundesanzeiger (Federal Gazette) and in the Bauregelliste B (Construction Products List B), Part 1 and the associated attachments of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) (Centre of Competence in Civil Engineering). The member countries are still responsible for the rules on the use of these products, however. For this reason, the use of products in accordance with the decision of the advisory board of NABau and in consultation with the Conference of the Ministers of Building (ARGEBAU) may be regulated in Germany by this application standard to EN 14250:2010. This standard specifies the application-oriented requirements for prefabricated structural members assembled with punched metal plate fasteners (hereinafter called prefabricated structural member) according to EN 14250 which are used in structures. This standard supplements the design standards DIN EN 1995-1-1:2010-12 with National Annex DIN EN 1995-1-1/NA. DIN 20000-4 has been prepared by NA 005-04-01 AA "Holzbau" ("Timber structures") of NABau.
