Overview
This standard defines a procedure for testing the bioaccessibility of substances from contaminated soil and materials that can be applied to or introduced into the soil (see Section 6 of the German Federal Soil Protection Act [BBodSchG]). As a rule only those substances can be examined that have a sufficiently low vapor pressure and for which no higher losses can occur under the test conditions according to this standard. Furthermore, suitable analytical methods shall be used for the processing and detection of the substances or elements in the complex digestion approaches. In the test system presented here, the mobilization of organic and inorganic pollutants from contaminated particles is tested under standardized conditions using synthetic digestive juices (gastric and intestinal juices) in a way that is close to physiological conditions.
Please get in touch with the relevant contact person at DIN if you have problems understanding the content of the standard or need advice on how to apply it.
