This standard specifies safety requirements for planning, selection, manufacture, intended use and testing of aluminum platforms and frames, which can be used as aluminum platforms, slopes, steps and stairs, including railings for scene areas (stages) and grandstands. This standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events that apply to aluminum platforms and frames if they are used as intended and under conditions that are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer as misuse. This standard does not claim to point out all safety aspects that can occur during its application. National and European rules and regulations exist for operational safety requirements. If these products become part of construction systems, then the requirements of the building industry must be taken into account. This standard does not apply to the scaffolding used as a substructure in stage and studio operations in accordance with the series of standards DIN EN 12810 and DIN EN 12811, nor to temporary structures in accordance with DIN EN 13814. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 149-00-06 AA "Einrichtungen und Arbeitsmittel" ("Equipment and working materials") at the DIN Standards Committee Entertainment Technology, Photography and Cinematography (NVBF).
