Overview

The standard applies to group pumping appliances HLF 10 and specifies additional and/or restrictive type-specific requirements for the general requirements given in DIN EN 1846-2, DIN EN 1846-3, E DIN 14502-2 and DIN 14502-3. Group pumping appliance HLF 10 is a fire-fighting vehicle with a fire-fighting centrifugal pump driven by the vehicle motor with a nominal flow rate of 1 000 l/min, an installation for quick delivery of water or a hose reel, a fire water reservoir and fire-fighting equipment for the crew; this appliance is intended for fire-fighting, the provision of water and for technical support and comprises an independent tactical unit with its crew consisting of a group (1/8) and has, compared to group pumping appliance LF 10, a specified, extended minimum load for technical support. The vehicle designation has been changed from HLF 10/6 to HLF 10, as the nation-wide introduction of the digital BOS radio necessitates a uniform and mandatory designation of fire-fighting, medical and disaster control vehicles. Every time a connection is established, a data set, the so called operative-tactical address (OPTA), of the radio subscribers is shown in plain text format on the radio displays. The digital radio system necessitates therewith that all users/digital end devices have their own unique address (like an IP address on the internet or individual mobile numbers) and, as a result, that every device is clearly identifiable. Consequently, this presumes a uniform system when designating fire fighting, medical and disaster control vehicles. Regarding the allocation of uniform addresses for radios, the BDBOS has decided to use the "Richtlinie für die operativ-taktische Adresse (OPTA) im Digitalfunk der Behörden und Organisationen mit Sicherheitsaufgaben" ("Directive for the digital system operative-tactical address of the authorities and organizations responsible for safety") of the Ausschuss für Informations- und Kommunikationswesen des Arbeitskreises V (Working Committee for information and communication systems of Working Group V) nation-wide as a necessary technical standard and recommends it to the federal states for implementation. The following significant modifications have been made with respect to DIN 14530-5:2007-10: a) group pumping appliance HLF 10/6 has been transferred from DIN 14530-5 into the new Part 26 of DIN 14530; b) modification of the vehicle designation HLF 10/6 to HLF 10 due to the nation-wide introduction of digital BOS radio; c) the foreword has been newly formulated; d) the total mass has been increased to 12 000 kg and the mass reserve of at least 3 % of the total mass has been incorporated; e) recommendation of equal track widths at the front and rear axles for 4-wheel drive and use of single-wide tyres has been incorporated; f) set up of an energy balance of the vehicle according to E DIN 14502-2 is required; g) it shall be possible to manually operate pneumatically or electrically remote controlled shut-off devices without attaching additional auxiliaries; h) fire water reservoir with 1 000 l of useable water has been specified; i) requirements for a permanently installed foam liquid container have been incorporated; j) requirements for the bodywork and roof have been incorporated; k) standard load has been completely revised; l) all normative references have been adjusted; DIN V 14011, DIN V 14430, E DIN 14502-2, DIN 14811-1; DIN EN 1846-2:2002-03 and DIN EN 15182-3 have been deleted and DIN 14011, DIN 14430, E DIN 14502-2:2009-07, DIN 14502-3, DIN 14800-18, DIN 14811 and DIN EN 1846-2:2010-01 have been added; m) content of the standard, including bibliography, has been editorially revised. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-06 AA "Allgemeine Anforderungen an Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Löschfahrzeuge - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 3" ("General requirements for fire service vehicles - Fire fighting vehicles - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 3") at DIN.
